Welcome to the 15th EADV Spring Symposium

Prof. Luca Borradori
EADV President (2016-2018)

Distinguished colleagues,
Dear friends,

On behalf of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, I extend a very warm welcome to all participants attending the 15th Annual Spring Symposium. The 2018 Spring Symposium is hosted in Montenegro, a name derived from Venetian Italian in reference to Mount Lovćen, once covered by an impenetrable “black” forest. Montenegro, independent since 2006, is a small country but with a rich, colourful history dating back to the Roman Empire.

The programme of this year’s Symposium, covers a wide range of practical relevant subjects, including eczemas, skin cancers, dermoscopy, infectious diseases and sexually-transmitted diseases. The plenary lectures and what’s new session will provide further highlights, addressing among others, melanoma, acne and rosacea, and paediatric dermatology. The Scientific Programming Committee has worked hard to engage the best speakers with interesting contemporary topics, so that the needs and expectations of both the young and the experienced dermatologists and venerologists are covered in full.

Let’s always keep close in mind, our vision statement dedicated to being “the leading community of health professionals and advocates in the field of dermatology and venereology”, and as a result, the EADV must continue to innovate with new knowledge in the specialty as well as to encourage exchange and collaboration with other health professionals, by unwaveringly keeping the patient at the centre of our attention and care.

Please use this Spring Symposium as an opportunity to renew contacts and extend your reach to new colleagues. Finally, I hope that you will also have the chance to discover the landscape and seacoast with its picturesque old villages and their rich architectural heritage and medieval murals.

I am aware of the tremendous effort and dedication of all those who have worked together despite challenging logistics and difficult access, to bring the EADV Spring Symposium to Budva.

I would, for these reasons, like to express my personal and sincere thanks to Dr. Predrag Stilet, whose enthusiasm and drive will surely make this event an unforgettable experience for everyone.

On behalf of the EADV therefore, it only remains for me to wish you a productive, enriching and successful Spring Symposium in Budva.

Dr. Predrag Štilet
Spring Symposium Chairman

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Montenegrin Association of Dermato-Venereology, it is my great pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 15th EADV Spring Symposium, which will be held from 3 until 6 of May 2018 in Budva, Montenegro.

We are proud to be one of the 35 countries that are part of the EADV network and given the opportunity to organise such an important event as the EADV Spring Symposium. We hope that this Symposium will continue the successful tradition of the previous ones and that it will allow clinicians to share their professional knowledge and skills, to discuss and express their views on a variety of topics that relate not only to the quality and organisation of work, but also the social and economic interests of Dermato-Venereology in Europe. It will be an opportunity to listen to each other and to exchange ideas that will be helpful in solving our daily concerns using available health system institutions.
Therefore, we invite you to participate and contribute to the quality of this event which will be held in one of the most beautiful places on the Adriatic coast. Budva offers a unique blend of natural beauties, cultural and historic heritage dating back two and a half centuries, which makes it one of the oldest urban centres of the region.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to, not only a meaningful and interesting scientific programme, but also a number of activities that will make your stay unique and unforgettable.

Dr. Predrag Štilet
Spring Symposium Chairman
